NSC | Resolving Error: Sales Order Quantity > Invalid number (must be between -9999999999 and 999999
Scenario
User is entering a Sales Order or Invoice with a Quantity and Invoice Quantity of 99,999,999,999 but receives an error preventing them from saving the record.
Cause
The system throws the following error:"Invalid number (must be between -9,999,999,999 and 9,999,999,999)"
This is because NetSuite’s standard number field for quantity is limited to 10 digits, and any value beyond this range exceeds the allowed input. Attempts to configure a higher maximum quantity at the item level do not bypass this system limitation.
Solution
To work around this limitation:
Step 1: Split the total quantity across multiple line items or transactions, ensuring each quantity is below the 10-digit limit.
