NSC | How to Display the Name of the Last User Who Updated an Item Record
You may want to track and display the name of the most recent user who updated an Item record—not just in System Notes, but visibly on the record itself, in a custom field. This is especially useful for audits, accountability, or general visibility into who last made changes.
Solution: Use a Workflow and a Custom Field
Yes, this is entirely possible using workflows, without the need for any scripting.
Step 1: Create a Custom Field
- Navigate to Customization > Lists, Records & Fields > Item Fields > New.
- Set the Type to List/Record.
- In the List/Record field, select Employee.
- Check Store Value
