NSC | Update Memorized Journal > Resolve Error on Account
Scenario:
A memorized journal entry contains a line using an account named "Accrued Expenses" with an internal ID of 1045. Since the last time the journal entry was saved, an administrator has marked "Accrued Expenses" as inactive. When the user attempts to update and save the memorized journal, the system displays the error:
The account 1045 Accrued Expenses is an inactive account
The error references an Account Internal ID that no longer points to an active account in the Chart of Accounts. Inactive accounts cannot be used in transactions, including memorized journal entries. The system prevents the journal from saving, which leads to the error.
