NSC | Unable to Choose the Same Regular & Intercompany Account on Item Record
Scenario
The user encountered an issue while trying to select the same expense account for both regular expense and intercompany expense. They received an error message stating, 'You may not use duplicate accounts on an item.' The user seeks to understand the reason behind this restriction.
Solution
The error is encountered when the same account value is entered in more than one account field for the item. An enhancement request has already been logged to address this issue under #11246 Lists > Items > Allow users to use the same account in the Income and Expense/Cost of Goods sold fields.
With this, the expected behavior is that an error will occur if the same account value is set for both the income account and the intercompany account fields.
