NetSuite Admin Tip | Resolve Error: "Illegal year format..." When Setting Up 2051 Period
The Accounting Periods feature helps manage the general ledger. Without it, NetSuite posts transactions in real time. When enabled, users can choose a specific posting period for each transaction, allowing better control and monitoring of accounts. Administrators can assist accounting staff in setting up accounting periods. To do this, users need at least Edit access to the Manage Accounting Periods permission.
However, there are scenarios where the user attempted to set up accounting periods for the fiscal year 2051 in NetSuite but received the following error message: "Illegal year format or value. Examples: 1999, 2000, 2001, etc."
