NetSuite Admin Tip | Resolve Error: Can’t Select Custom Segment Value with Custom Role in NetSuite

When using a custom role, users may find that a custom segment field is blank or unclickable. But it works fine when using the Administrator role.

Why This Happens:

This usually happens when:

  • The role doesn’t have permission to access the custom record linked to the segment, or
  • The custom segment’s permissions are not correctly set for that role.

🛠 How to Fix It:

1. Check the Custom Segment Setup

Go to Customization > Lists, Records, & Fields > Custom Segments

 Edit the custom segment

 Click on the Permissions subtab

 Select the role you want to give access to

 Set access levels for:
