NSC | Writing off the Returned Items
Scenario
User wanted to default their setup to write -off all the returned or damaged items instead of restocking the items back to their inventory.
Solution
To write off returns as expense, you only need to unmark the Restock checkbox from item line in Receiving a Returned Order.

You can also set the default value of the Restock checkbox and set the default write-off Account from the Accounting Preferences.
Note: This feature is available when you use the Advanced Receiving feature.
