NSC | Excluding Inactive Segments from Financial Reports

Scenario

Inactive segments such as Departments, Classes, and Locations may still appear on financial reports, including the Balance Sheet and Income Statement. NetSuite keeps these segments available for historical reporting and to help prevent report totals from appearing unbalanced.

However, some users may prefer to customize their reports so inactive segments are not displayed in the results.

Solution

To exclude inactive segments from a financial report, add a filter to the customized report. Example: Exclude inactive Departments from the Balance Sheet.

1. Navigate to Reports > Financial > Balance Sheet > Customize Summary.
2. Click Filters tab
3. Expand the Financial folder.
4. Expand the Department folder.
