NSC | Allow Specific Roles to Edit a Disabled Custom Field
Use Case:
Users may want a Custom Field to remain restricted for most roles while allowing specific roles to edit the field.
This can be achieved by configuring role-based access permissions on the Custom Field.
How It Works:
- Navigate to Customization > Lists, Records, & Fields > Transaction Body Fields > New
- Enter the following:
- Label: Disabled Field
3. Click the Display tab:
- Display Type: Select Normal
4. Click the Access tab:
- Default Access Level: Select View
5. Under the Role sublist:
- Role: Select Administrator
- Access Level: Select Edit
- Level for Search/Reporting: Select Edit
6. Click Save & Apply To Forms
7. On the form settings page:
- Display Type:
