How to set a value for the new Time/Date field type (seconds)?
I already asked Support for help with setting the value of a field to the current date/time with seconds using a workflow action; I'm doing this to reproduce the various core date fields in support cases but in seconds so we can run useful metrics. The solution given was not to use that field type at all.
Based on my testing, you can get the value of the time including the seconds by following the steps below:

1. Go to Setup > Customization > CRM Fields > New
2. Enter a value for Label
3. Set the Type to Free-Form Text
