Add new field to Kit/Pkg Components sublist

Hi all,
Is it possible to add a column to the components list of a kit/pkg via suitescript.  Can't seem to do it via UI like can with a transaction so was wondering  if this is possible via suitescript.  See functions to add field to sublists if creating a new sublist in a suitelet but nothing so far for an existing item form.
