Item name different than display name

We have a quote import tool that is setting the item display name different than the item name. How can I run a search to find the differences? I looked a simple criteria formula, but it does not list not equal to in the dropdown. I also tried using a basic sql (which I am still new at) and it would not return what was needed. Any suggestions?
