Item number not printing on Sales Orders or Quotes Created from an Opportunity

I am seeing an odd problem:

When Sales orders or Quotes that were created from an Opportunity are printed, the Item numbers are blank on the PDF form.  This does not occur when a Sales Order is created manually.  The Item number field is a standard NetSuite field; not custom.  I can add another item with a longer part number to the quote and it will print out on the PDF, while the original item still does not print.  The Sales Order or Quote can edited by selecting the Item number field, placing the cursor to the right so the number is no longer highlighted, and
