New Sales Tax Laws effecting ecommerce/ mail order companies - How will you pay sales tax to every s

edited Dec 20, 2019 12:20PM in Accounting / ERP 1 comment

Pertaining to THIS new sales tax ruling.  How will you deal with it?  I know it is very early and the details on how it'll work aren't available.  Is this "no big deal" or the end of smaller companies doing ecommerce?  What solutions are you considering to tackle this issue when it comes to fruition?

We currently ship all over the USA and yet only collect sales tax for orders shipping to our home State of Illinois.  I'm not as worried about the increased cost to our customers making us unable to compete with brick-n-mortar because we sell items that aren't readily available in most towns.  I'm worried about the logistics of filing 52 sales tax returns every month. I can't imagine having to file monthly in 52 states (we ship to Puerto Rico).  I also believe this will take hold because  can't imagine any state not taking advantage of new revenue and going after

Howdy, Stranger!
