Chart of Accounts locked for editing

Dear All,

Have any of you encountered the problem that all chart of accounts cannot be edited?

Also, the lock account appears next to the header

I'm using the Administrator role

Tried looking for scripts running on account records with no success.

Also, I cannot create new accounts and receive the following message:

"Creating a new GL Account requires elevated privileges."

What am I missing?
