Item download file Internal ID

We have the download file name exposed on the Item record and using a custom transaction line field, the file name defaults to the Transaction Line. I would like to add the file Internal ID to the Item and deliver that to the transaction line.

I have tried to define another custom Item field and custom Transaction line field but I cannot get to the download file Internal ID

Any suggestions how I can pull a File Cabinet file Internal ID into the Item? Once there I can drop it onto the Transaction Line.
