Edit Fixed Asset Record Type

I need to be able to exclude fixed asset type records showing on global search results . To turn this off it is available in the fixed asset record type, by unchecking the global search check box . However the app seems to be locked during original installation therefore not able to edit the custom record type.

How do we do this?
