Modifying a sublist item on item fulfillment form

During implementation an options sublist field was added to our form. I am not sure what this item is used for as we cannot edit it. What I would like to do is to be able to relabel it to something useful that will print on our forms (like a lot number). Can you make this an item that can be editable/fillable? Not sure why it was included on the item fulfillment form, which in turn shows on the packing slip if the field is always blank.
