How to trim a field to delimiter in a Saved Search?

edited Jun 2, 2025 2:31PM in Search / Reporting 15 comments

Please suggest an expression to remove the text to the left of a ‘:’ so for example I want to change this string from “LED Lamps : GU10 LED” to “: GU10 LED”

Then I want to replace “: GU10 LED” with "&nbsp&nbsp&nbspGU10 LED”

This is being some in a saved search so I need to use "FORMULA (text)" to achieve this.

Ultimatly I want to change the following:

"LED Lamps : GU10 LED : DIMMABLE" to "&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspDimmable"

(note there are six spaces becasuse we have replaced "LED Lamps : " and "GU10 LED : ")

So I need a function that will remove any text string anding in a ":" with three spaces. If there are multiple strings then I will need multiple replaces.

Howdy, Stranger!
