Expiration dates with demand and supply planning
Is there a solution for taking into account lot expiration dates related to demand and supply planning?
For example, given this scenario for Lot Numbered Inventory Item 12345:
* Current date: 5/8/2018
* Inventory quantity on hand: one lot of quantity 100, expiring 6/1/2018
* Demand: one sales order for quantity 50 to be shipped 6/5/2018
* No open purchase orders or transfer orders
Desired result:
* Recommend a purchase of 50 to arrive before 6/5, given that the current quantity on hand will expire before the sales order must ship.
I haven't seen this in any demos or documentation, but it seems like there must be a solution that doesn't require customization, since expiration dates are standard on lot records, and NetSuite supports demand and supply plans.
