no pagination on published saved item searches

I have two searches with over 100 results. I have a large published saved search of transactions that paginate just fine. I have large published saved searches of ITEMS that uses the same layout and doesn't paginate. They both paginate in the NetSuite back-end, but not in the published version of that search.

What can cause this?
