Can allocation journals created from allocation schedules be updates via a script?

in Accounting / ERP 1 comment

I need confirmation on whether allocation journals that were created from allocation schedules could be updated via a script. The update will be a gl impacting update. A new gl impacting custom segment will be created, and then the field needs to be populated.

My understanding is that Allocation journals cannot be updated (specifically, changes that impact the general ledger), even via scripts, CSV, or UI, since the source of the journal originates from the allocation schedule.

This means that we need to update the allocation schedule, delete the existing journal entries, and then rerun or process the allocation schedules to create new journal entries that will have the custom segment populated.

Howdy, Stranger!
