Rob is an Oracle Database administrator, designer, developer, and project manager. For the past twenty years, Rob has specialized in Financial Intelligence, including tracking of money laundering, terrorist money and identity theft, along with Cyber Crimes tracking attacks on information systems. Within this focus, Rob evaluates, designs, and secures Oracle Database environment from threats both external and internal. Rob has long prioritized sharing his expertise in secure design with the user community, with presentations at conferences such as ODTUG's Kscope, blogging and webcasts.
Heli Helskyaho holds a Master’s degree (Computer Science) in Helsinki University and she is specialized on databases. Heli is also an Oracle ACE Director and a frequent speaker in many conferences. She has been working on IT since 1990 and with Oracle products since 1993. She has been in several positions but every role has always included a heavy focus on database design. Heli was an avid Oracle Designer user since 1996 and a Data Modeler user since 2010. She is also the CEO for Miracle Finland Oy and the Ambassador for EOUC (EMEA Oracle users group community). She believes that good database design and good documentation reduces performance problems and makes solving them easier. Heli is the author of Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler for Database Design Mastery (Oracle Press 2015). Heli puts her beliefs in practice not only on the job, but in the community. She is active on Twitter, blogs frequently, is a popular presenter at conferences, from Kscope to OOW, and an inspiring mentor for Women in Technology.
Michelle Kolbe is the Manager of Data & Insights at Backcountry.com. In her few years at Backcountry, she has helped transform the culture of the half million dollar company to a data driven culture that relies on data and insights before making decisions. Michelle has over 11 years experience in business intelligence from data modeling to ETL to reporting and analytics. Her ODTUG Kscope15 presentation captures how Michelle promotes database design in a BI context. "Most BI tools require a dimensional model, but how do you go about designing that kind of model? This presentation will cover the basics of dimensional modeling and show how to build a model in Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler." Michelle has a BS in Computer Science from Winona State University and an MBA from Utah State University. She served for four years as President for the Utah Oracle Users Group and is currently on the board of the Independent Oracle Users Group (IOUG). She previously held a Board Position on the Healthcare Data Warehousing Association and was a Contributing Editor of the IOUG Select Journal.
