Rapid Service Design and Order Delivery (RSDOD) is being re-positioned as the blueprint and methodology for powering the new Oracle Communications Service and Network Orchestration solution.This new solution approach simplifies portfolio messaging and aligns to the contemporary industry themes of dynamic and model-driven services and network orchestration, SDN and NFV.

 

Oracle Communications Service and Network Orchestration provides an open and complete cross-layer orchestration solution that enables agile operations for cloud-based and on-premise business models by streamlining the service lifecycle and abstracting network complexity.

 

The new solution includes RSDOD, network resource management (NRM), Network Service Orchestration (NSO) and IP Service Activator (IPSA) components and aligns with the Reference Implementation (RI). The RSDOD 7.3.4 document set and Reference Implementation installation package are available for immediate use by partners and customers via the  Oracle Technology Network site.

 

Oracle Communications is pleased to announce the general availability of Oracle Communications Unified Inventory Management and Oracle Communications Network Service Orchestration Solution 7.3.4.

Oracle Communications Unified Inventory Management provides rapid design and management of communications services and resources across current and next-generation networks and technologies. Oracle Communications Network Service Orchestration Solution enables the on-boarding, design and automated lifecycle management of NFV-based services across virtual and physical networks. It leverages the Oracle Communications Unified Inventory Management platform to deliver carrier-grade orchestration capabilities.

This combined release delivers the following benefits to Oracle Communications Unified Inventory Management and Oracle Communications Network Service Orchestration Solution customers and prospects:

  • Accelerate implementation with extensive pre-built multivendor support with device library (UIM)
  • Faster implementation of RSDOD solution (UIM)
  • Improved inventory federation with consumption and topology views for Carrier Ethernet (UIM)
  • Reduces operational time and increases flexibility in performing and sorting characteristics (UIM, NSO)
  • Rapid VNF on-boarding using TOSCA standards for immediate use by network services (NSO)
  • Operational control over Network Service and VNF lifecycle with new Operations User Interface (NSO)
