Hi all,

Java 9 was released on September 21, 2017. The current versions of P6 will not work with Java 9, as it requires code updates to P6.

Our schedule for JRE 9 compatible/certified versions of P6 is as follows:

  • 17.10:           Early-October 2017
  • 16.2.10.x:     Mid-October 2017
  • 15.2.16.x:     Mid-October 2017

One thing to note is that JRE 9 will NOT auto-update JRE 8 users to JRE 9, so P6 users need not be concerned if auto update is enabled.

For more information on this issue, please see: Java 9 Support With Primavera P6 EPPM (Doc ID 2125099.1). This document as well as the Tested Configuration documentation for each product will be updated upon completion of certification testing.

Thanks,

Ron

Hi all,

The following products will have updates available during the month of September. Below are key highlights for each release. For more information, please refer to the corresponding product documentation for additional details and visuals of the newly added features once the product becomes available.

Oracle Prime v17.9

New! “What-If” Scenarios in Schedules

Project Managers and Schedulers are now able to do a “What-If” scenario without impacting the current schedules. This feature is extremely beneficial for customers to know the impact of changing activity sequence, risk and resources on the overall schedule.

New! Training App for Prime Support

Prime now features a brand new training app that brings in several video tutorials and best practices for each Prime app.

Lean Scheduling Imports Made Easy!

Lean Scheduling enhancements enable users to import Tasks from Excel, significantly reducing the manual effort and re-work to enter tasks from an external system.

Run Reports When and Where You Want

Create or run a report directly from the desired Prime App without navigating to the reporting app. Also, reports can now be rub on Change Orders and Payment Applications.

Allocate Funds to Projects via a Portfolio

Funding source can now be created at the portfolio level and allocated to Projects as part of the budget planning process. This helps Budget Planners gauge available funds before approving budgets for projects.

Oracle Textura Payment Management v17.9

This release provides General Contractors (GCs) the ability to print draft (pre-approval) subcontractor invoices for "Pencil Meetings". These draft invoices are then reviewed and marked up as necessary in the actual Pencil Meeting between the GC and owner. Then the suggested invoice revisions can be sent to the subcontractors so they can edit and resubmit revised invoices in advance of owner billing. Additionally, TPM 17.9 introduces Invoice Approval Deadlines that can be configured on a per-project basis in support of the UK Construction Act and Australian Security of Payment Acts. These deadlines appear on reports and can be monitored by the GC.

Textura Pre-Qualification Management v17.9

This release expands upon the new administration UI implementation from 17.8 by adding additional functionality meant to replace and enhance functionality from older pages that are being removed in the future. This functionality will further save time for our client service team and make more data available from one location.

Thanks,

Ron
