Hi all,

To get the most up to date information on the latest product releases, please reference the corresponding What's New documentation for the product you are interested in:

Hi all,

The following products will have an update available during the month of October. Below are key highlights for each release. For more information, please refer to the corresponding product documentation for additional details and visuals of the newly added features once the product becomes available.

Oracle Prime Projects v18.10

Inbox has been redesigned, enabling you to view information related to the projects you manage. Use the Inbox – accessed via the Notifications icon – to review action items like overdue activities/workflow tasks and general notifications like background services/alerts. Use the left panel to filter which notifications are displayed in the list and flag items that require follow-up. History is no longer a separate page for completed Inbox entries. It is now a predefined filter labeled Archive on the Inbox page. Archive any item, return it to the Inbox, or delete it.

Generate resource demand from existing resource assignments in a project. This feature allows you to use the same resource plan for planned projects and projects in progress. Create Demand from Schedule is available on Resource Demand page under Actions. It generates role demand for all roles assigned in the project as well as roles associated with resources. If a matching role demand is found, select to keep or update the existing demand.

Track changes to workflow designs and select the version that works best for your configuration. When changes are made to a workflow design, a tool-tip icon appears to the right of all workflow configurations associated with it. On the Workflow Configuration page, click the tool-tip icon to view interactive diagrams of both the current and updated workflow designs. Use the Added and Removed Elements menus to review the differences between designs, and then select the version that you want to use. After a design is selected, the configuration page is displayed. Make changes to the configuration if required, and then click Publish to save it and make the workflow available for use.

Textura Payment Management v18.10

New Data on the Approve Invoice Page

General Contractors will be able to track additional information for submitted invoices from the Approve Invoices page. Now, invoice amounts for second tier subcontractors can be viewed directly from the page, allowing users to validate sub-tier invoice amounts. There are also two new columns on the page for Net Invoice Amount and Invoice Approved Date.

Reduce Invoice Submission Errors

Previously, subcontractors would incorrectly submit an invoice for zero or negative value, requiring extra steps to submit for the desired value. Now, a new alert will notify users if they are to submit zero or negative value invoices reducing errors and frustration.

Hi all,

The Skanska/Walsh joint venture is managing construction of the $4 billion LaGuardia redevelopment mega project, which involves a huge number of subcontractors and major material purchase orders, entailing more than $2.3billion in contracts. Early on they recognized the need for an efficient, scalable subcontractor payment process including invoice review, waiver collection, and electronic payment.

Watch this webcast to discover:

  • Why Skanska/Walsh turned to Oracle Textura Payment Management Cloud Service to streamline and automate payment activities

Hi all,

The following products will have an update available during the month of September. Below are key highlights for each release. For more information, please refer to the corresponding product documentation for additional details and visuals of the newly added features once the product becomes available.

Oracle Prime Projects v18.9

Edit reports at the project level. In previous versions of Prime, editing a report affected reports for all projects in the workspace. Now, you have the ability to edit reports for specific projects. For example, create a project risk response report at the workspace level for all of your projects, scheduled to run on the first day of the month – and then use the same report template for a specific project, scheduled to run the first day of each week. Project-specific reporting enables you to customize the way data is presented by project, focusing on the data that is most relevant to a given initiative.

Prime Field Enhancements

Prime Field now provides Inspection Matrix Reports to show the total number of inspections and associated issues, based on inspection status. Select the Matrix Reports Page to view the total number of Open Issues, the total number of Issues, and the total number of inspections on a project, based on their current status. This feature enables stakeholders to review issue and inspection activity at the highest level, helping them to recognize trouble spots that have the potential to impact project progress.

Request Inspection added to the Inspections page. Subcontractors and foremen now have the ability to request an inspection from the field. This saves project managers time, as workers in the field can immediately make an inspection request when work is complete. Go to the Inspections page in Field and click on the Request button to launch the Request Inspection dialog box. Complete required fields and the system will forward the request and necessary forms to the selected Inspection Manager.

Workflows & Forms

Create proposals using a custom form to capture the details you want to initiate in a project. In previous versions, a system default dialog box was displayed to collect general information about the project proposal before it was routed to decision makers. Now, workflow administrators have the ability to replace the default dialog box with a custom form, and select from a wide variety of data types to share with workflow performers.

The custom form must include the following fields for the system to recognize it as a project proposal form: Name, ID, Workspace, Project Currency, Copy from another Project, and Status. To replace the standard form with the custom form, at the workspace level in Summary & Settings, expand Default Options and select Project. Click on the Forms tab and use the Add Project Proposal list to select either the default form (which includes the standard requirements for a proposal), or your own custom proposal form.

Textura Payment Management v18.9

With release 18.9, General Contractors be able to configure if they are using TPM for their owner billing on a given project. Prior to this release, TPM created a workflow for every billing period. This feature will streamline the billing process for organizations that do not use TPM for owner invoice creation, allowing users to focus on subcontractor billing tasks.

The release also includes two improvements for project owners as part of a broader set of enhancements for owners. First, owners can now self-perform the general contractor role, allowing greater configuration of participants. Second, owners can now be granted access to view the Contract Status page for subcontractors on their project. This access gives them a more detailed view of project and subcontract activity.

Finally, there are two enhancements for the Canadian and UK customers. Canadian organizations can track tax information by province to align with tax requirements. In the UK, TPM now supports the ability to issue Pay Less Notices in line with Construction Act requirements.

Oracle Prime Projects v18.8

Lean Task Multi-Week Views

The Tasks Work Plan page now supports multi-week views. Previously, the page provided only a single-day or a single-week view. Click the list at the top of the page to choose a single day or a 1- to 6-week view of the planning board. View a video on this feature.

Prime Field Enhancements

Field now provides the ability to create a PDF file containing multiple issues with job pics, forms, markups, issue history, and attachments. Fill in standard fields like Responsible Party and add custom fields. Use the Print to PDF feature and then email or print the file for project managers, site superintendents, and foremen. Field also now supports electronic signatures on an inspection document using pre-defined signature files.

Primavera Unifier v18.8

In 18.8 we have continued to work on the User Interface including the following:

  • Document Type, Preventative Maintenance, Lease and Text type BPs support the new UI
  • Space, Level and Code & Record Logs now support the new UI
  • In the Document manager the properties are now editable on the right hand side
  • Shell Landing page

Functionality enhancements include:

  • Support for historical exchange rates
  • Ability to change the Owner of a UDR
  • Task reassignments for active users
  • Earned Value grid supports the ability to color the cell based on queries
  • Schedule Manager now has the option to not auto-schedule

There are a large number of integration enhancements including:

  • GetUDRData is now also a restful service and supports passing parameters for the query
  • Restful services now to create BP Records and get BP Records. These services now support the Integration Users and the ability to define the workflow, creator and action to be taken.
  • New restful services to create/update the permissions within the Document manager.
  • New restful services to get a list of Shells and also to be able to retrieve a list of BPs.

Lastly, the Project Controls and the Facilities and Asset Management base configurations will now be provided as Configuration Packages within MOS.

Primavera P6 EPPM v18.8

P6 version 18.8 now has the ability to import and export Excel files of data on the Enterprise Data page. In this release, activity code import and export has been implemented. More dictionaries will be coming over the next few months. In Team Member, you can group your activities and assignments by Project and WBS and add up to 5 filter criteria.

Textura Payment Management v18.8

TPM is improving how Lien Waiver holds are placed and released. Holds can now be placed on a draw by draw basis, rather than project wide. This affords Compliance Managers better control over a key compliance process. Lien Waiver holds will also be released automatically when they are marked compliant by the General Contractor.

Also in 18.8 is the ability for General Contractors to track Preliminary Notices in TPM. This compliments existing tracking of subcontractor and sub-tiers lien waiver in regions where a Preliminary Notice must be submitted to the owner.

Hi all,

A couple updates to pass along here:

On Premise Product Version Number Changes:

Starting in September, we are changing how we label patch set releases.  The patch set will be reflected by the 3rd digit. For example:

    • August: 18.8: on-premise release
    • September: 18.8.1 – first v18 patch set
    • October: 18.8.2 – 2nd patch set

This is a change from v17 where the patch set numbers increased to match the month.  Last year, we had:

    • July: 17.7 – on premise release
    • August: 17.8 – first patch set
    • September: 17.9 – 2nd patch set

Removal of Remaining Java Applets from P6 version 18.8

When P6 18.8 is released in August, all remaining applets will be disabled and unavailable to customers.  Version 18 recently included an HTML5 version of the Portfolio Capacity Planning functionality and Dashboard Scorecards.  Version 18.8 will also include a new HTML5 user interface for Risk.

The removal of applets impacts the following functionality.  There are currently no plans to re-write these areas.

    • Dashboards
      • Resource Team Summary
      • Open Request for Resource
      • Resource Analysis Chart: Replaced with improved charts in Resources/Resource Analysis
      • My Workgroups
    • Portfolios
      • Portfolio Gantt Chart
      • ROI
    • Project Workspaces
    • Resource Planning

Note: The Classic Views from EPS, Activity, and Resource Assignments have been removed in version 18.7.

Hi all,

The following products will have an update available during the month of July. Below are key highlights for each release. For more information, please refer to the corresponding product documentation for additional details and visuals of the newly added features once the product becomes available.

Oracle Prime Projects v18.7

Lean Task Hand-Offs

A new Hand-offs tab enables you to create and track dependencies between tasks during lean scheduling. This helps ensure that predecessor/successor relationships between tasks are maintained during the scheduling process. A page displays task hand-offs for the entire project, grouped by activities on the project's CPM schedule. A trace logic window on the Work Plan page displays each task's relationships and automatically calculates the slack between dependent tasks as they are positioned on the planning board.

Improved Training Center

Prime Projects Training Center is enhanced with tutorials that provide step-by-step guidance on how to perform functions in Prime. The tutorials provide a complement to the training videos -- enabling you to “try it” after viewing a video. Tutorials are available in four courses: Fundamentals, Project Management, Portfolio Management, and Lean Scheduling. Also, a Screening Room is added to the Training Center for those who prefer to browse the training video catalog rather than go through the structured courses. View a video on this feature.

Primavera Unifier v18.7

With 18.7, the Request for Bid and the Document Type (without folder) business processes now support the new user interface. Additional UI changes include:

  •     The top navigation has been slightly changed to move the user name to the right hand side and have a drop down for Preferences, Proxies and Logout.
  •     The user and user group pickers now include the user image.
  •     The document review now allows the user to rotate images.
  •     A number of smaller changes have been included in the business processes and document manager to ensure consistency.

In Earned Value a number of changes have also been included:

  •     Rates from P6 will be converted to the relevant currency when synchronized in the Master rate Sheet.
  •     Currency conversion is included when calculating costs.
  •     The data models for EVM are now included in the ER View to help customer write reports.
  •     The EVM data will now be part of the Analytics extract process.

We have now added an Integration User which can be used for authentication for restful services and the legacy soap services.

Primavera P6 EPPM v18.7

P6 version 18.7 now includes an updated UI in the Risk Register. The Classic views for EPS, Activities, and Resource Assignments are no longer available.

Additional new features include:

  •     Advanced Analytics solutions focused on Project Success and Resource Pairings. Both solutions help guide customers to make better decisions based on current and historical data.
  •     Support for Unifier Line Item Tabs for analyzing Business Processes
  •     Hybrid support for Unifier on-premise with Primavera Analytics Cloud Service (see pre-requisites in pricing supplement)
  •     Email notifications to designated recipients when certain system issues require attention, such as ETL errors.
