Hi all,

I wanted to highlight some recent changes our Primavera communities have undergone:

  • We launched the Oracle Primavera Cloud (MOSC) community to house all content for the Oracle Prime Projects product, including discussions and enhancement requests, also known as ideas. Content for the Prime Projects product that was located in the Primavera (MOSC) community has been migrated to the new community.
  • We have renamed our existing communities to better align our spaces with our products:
    • Primavera (MOSC), the top level space which houses all of our communities is now named: Oracle Construction and Engineering (MOSC)
    • Primavera-PRIM (MOSC), which covers the P6, Instantis, Contract Management, Risk Analysis, Analytics, and Portfolio Management (OPPM) products, is now named: Primavera (MOSC)
    • Unifier-PRIM (MOSC), which covers the Unifier product, is now named: Unifier (MOSC)
    • CPIC-PRIM (MOSC), which covers content with the CPIC module, is now named:  CPIC (MOSC)

One important thing to note here is that all existing URLs for all existing content was NOT changed. If you had anything bookmarked, it will still be there.

Please let me know if you have any questions about anything.

Thanks!

Ron

Hi all,

The following products will have an update available during the month of February. Below are key highlights for each release. For more information, please refer to the corresponding product documentation for additional details and visuals of the newly added features once the product becomes available.

Oracle Prime Projects v18.2

Custom Logs within Documents

Custom logs allow users to track all project collaboration documents in a log format that make sense to the project team. This type of organization works well for documents, such as meeting minutes, that are being uploaded and do not require a workflow.

Field Reporting

Subject Areas for Field Issues, Inspections, and Commissioning are now available for Prime Reports. As with all reporting subject areas, these are available for both Prime and BI Publisher Layout designs.

Prime Progress Mobile File Access

Partners and vendors using Oracle Prime Progress for both iOS and Android will now have on-demand access to their project files from their mobile device. Users can browse, view and save project files to their device for offline access.

Work Plan Multi-Week Printing

Two-week or three-week rolling schedules are very common in the construction industry. The Work Plan page of the Tasks app has been updated to allow multi-week printing on a single page width.

Primavera Unifier v18.2

The Summary Payment Application has been enhanced to allow the user to enter a value greater than 100% in the % Complete column. In order to still retain control on what can be paid we had implemented the Commits Remaining Balance functionality that is currently available in the other Payment Application. We have also added the ability to define how the values on the summary rows should roll up from the cost breakdowns.

Within the Business Process setup we have now added the ability to filter the list of CC users to match what is available for assignees. We have also added the ability to use an OR condition across all the queries for both the assignees and the CC users.

In this release we are continuing to enhance the Business Process UI with updates to the Query Based Tabs, Reference Records, Line Item Consolidation, Comments and Attachments.

We are also continuing to enhance the Document Manager by giving the user the ability to revise or keep both when copying a document to a folder that already contains a document with the same name.

For integration, we have extended the getSOV web service to also support the Summary Payment Application type of Business processes.

Lastly, we have added a new Administrator menu option that allows them to view the background jobs that are scheduled to run. As well as being able to view the jobs, the administrator can also define which time zone should be used when the job is next scheduled.

Primavera Analytics v18.2

Primavera Analytics now supports several Unifier pickers and data pickers which can be configured in the Unifier > Administration Mode > Analytics > Business Processes. The following pickers and data pickers are supported:

  •     BP Data Picker
  •     Shell Data Picker
  •     Space Data Picker
  •     User Data Picker
  •     BP Picker
  •     User Picker
  •     Shell Picker
  •     Space Picker

Primavera P6 EPPM v18.2

P6 version 18.2 introduces the ability to directly integrate Prime's Lean Tasks with P6's Steps. Using the Gateway integration, Tasks from Prime are now created as Steps in P6 so that Project Managers can directly see and react to the impacts that Tasks have on the project schedule. This task integration is only available on web only in 18.2, equivalent functionality to be delivered for client in the coming months.

To improve usability, customers now have the ability to assign EPS, Activity, and Resource Assignment views to specific users rather than all users. Version 18.2 also includes a new Earned Value field - Performance Percent Complete - Labor Units. This new field is calculated as Earned Value Labor Units divided by Budget at Complete Labor Units multiplied by 100.

Primavera Gateway v18.2

Primavera Gateway version 18.2 further enhances pre-built integration between Prime and P6. In this release we added support for Lean Task flow by allowing Prime tasks to be mapped with P5 Activity Steps. This is on directional OOTB flow to provide visibility to P6 project manager with the latest statuses form Prime Tasks.

We added ability to automatically clean-up synchronization job logs in Primavera Gateway. Primavera Gateway Administrators can now set configurable parameter that will specify number of days that the job log should be retained. After specified number of days, the system will automatically remove job logs older than provided threshold.

Added support for P6 Activity code hierarchy transfer when duplicate code values exists within different parts of the three.

Primavera Submittal Exchange v18.2

Submittal Exchange enhances the custom role label functionality to be controlled at a log level instead of at a project level.

Instantis EnterpriseTrack v18.2

This release includes several bug fixes as well as a Proposal/Project Finance Search API enhancement and a new column "Hours per Week" in the Resource Listing Report.

Hi all,

We are excited to announce the delivery of Prime Progress, a mobile app suited for users that progress and perform critical work assigned to them and their company. With Prime Progress, users can stay current on project site updates and ensure the project team is familiar with the work being completed.

The following project-centric features are now available:

  1.     Provide on-site progress updates for work assigned to self or company including tasks and activities
  2.     View and update assigned issues
  3.     Collaborate with peers on assigned work using Prime discussions
  4.     Offline access to multiple projects

For the first time in Prime, we are providing comparable functionality on the Android operating system! In recent weeks, we released Prime Progress for both Android and iOS marking a significant milestone in our effort to go to market with feature parity across both mobile platforms.

Prime iOS End-of-Life

The mobile team has been busy executing on a plan set forth by the strategy team to increase value to Prime customers with targeted applications like Prime Progress. This targeted approach allows us to deliver functionality to different persona’s in different ways. In light of this shift in strategy, the existing Prime iOS application will be removed from the Apple App Store in early December. For existing clients interested in lean task and activities on mobile, the same feature set is available in Prime Progress.

Hi all,

The following products will have updates available during the month of November. Below are key highlights for each release. For more information, please refer to the corresponding product documentation for additional details and visuals of the newly added features once the product becomes available.

Oracle Prime v17.11

New! Prime Progress for Android

For the first time in Prime, mobile users will have comparable functionality, no matter which operating system they prefer! Like Oracle Prime Progress for iOS, Android allows users to monitor and progress critical work assigned to them like tasks, activities and issues. This ensures project workers will stay up to date with project site updates and ensure the project team is familiar with the work that has been completed.

Create and Edit Field Inspections on the Web

Users will be able to create, edit and progress inspections through the workflow using the Prime Field web interface, complementing the inspections function from the Prime Field for iOS mobile application. Built with a consistent user experience, the behaviors and actions throughout inspection management on the web interface are familiar to users of other Prime applications.

Create Projects in P6 from Prime & Platform Improvements

Projects created in Prime can now be set to use Cloud Sync, and will be created in P6 EPPM. Previously, project data only flowed from P6 to Prime. Now, project header data can be synced in both directions. Additionally, user passwords can now be reset by administrators in Prime, negating the need to submit a service request to Support.

Improved Document Exchange Reporting and Communication

Submittals and RFI objects are now available for users to report on. Users can create a report by clicking on the Run Report icon at the top of the Submittal or RFI grids, or by going to the Reports module within Prime. Additionally, e-mails are now being sent for Submittal Items that are using the out of the box workflow.

Primavera P6 EPPM Cloud Service, Analytics & Data Warehouse v17.11

17.11 provides hybrid support between P6 EPPM Cloud Service and an on-premise instance of either Primavera Analytics or the Primavera Data Warehouse.

As part of the process, the necessary data for the Data Warehouse is copied in near real-time from the cloud-based P6 PMDB to an on-premise P6 PMDB database via the Primavera Analytics Cloud Sync utility.

In addition, as part of the Cloud Sync utility, we are providing a P6.jar file to run P6 Publication Services on the on-premise P6 PMDB database. This populates the Extended Schema which then allows a customer to run their on-premise ETL to populate the Primavera Data Warehouse and Primavera Analytics.

The Primavera Analytics Cloud Sync Utility is included with either Primavera Analytics or the Primavera Data Warehouse and includes a restricted use license for WebLogic Standard Edition to run the above processes. Note that P6 itself is not supported on the on-premise P6 PMDB copy.

Currently, customers must submit a Support Request to obtain the necessary files and documentation. This will be moved to the customer Cloud Admin page starting with v18.

Primavera Submittal Exchange v17.11

17.11 introduces a new grid in the Submittal, Closeout and RFI logs, which addresses several user interface issues clients have been asking for. The new interface allows the users to be able to freeze headers, lock the left column, and displays a delineation between each expected item (which makes reading the logs easier) in Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer. The introduction of the new grid also provides users with updated print capabilities, budget totals, the ability to expand or collapse sections and categories, and set up in-column filters. A new email notifications will now be sent out if a photo gallery or one or multiple photos are added, edited, or deleted from a gallery. The frequency of notification emails will follow what the user sets up in their email settings. Several bug fixes were addressed as well.

Announcing v17.3 for Instantis On-Premise and Cloud Customers

In this three-month release, we are making modifications to enable customers to filter and report data based on the last updated time stamps, beyond the existing daily date stamp.  We have also included some smaller enhancement requests.  The evaluation matrix weights can now be edited, proposal finances can be enabled for "single view" templates and the reporting for proposal finances has been improved.  This is the last official release of Instantis for on-premise installations.  In 2018, we are transitioning to a monthly cloud-only release cycle.

Thanks!

Ron

Hi all,

The following products will have updates available during the month of October. Below are key highlights for each release. For more information, please refer to the corresponding product documentation for additional details and visuals of the newly added features once the product becomes available.

Oracle Prime v17.10

RFIs Now Available in Prime Web & Field Mobile!

RFIs, Requests for Information, are being introduced in both Prime Field iOS and Document Exchange. A user can create an RFI to assign a question about an open issue to a project team member. Users will be able to view RFIs in a grid, The grid displays information such as status, required action and ball in court. Users  have the ability to attach files, markup files, view the communication trail, and receive automated alerts and notifications.

New! Prime Progress for iOS

Oracle Prime Progress for iOS allows users to monitor and progress critical work assigned to them like tasks, activities and issues. This ensures project workers will stay up to date with project site updates and ensure the project team is familiar with the work that has been completed. Oracle Prime Progress for iOS supports offline access.

Improved On-Boarding for New Users!

Prime 17.10 includes a guided tour that walks new users through the setup process. Use the step-by-step walk-through, or take the tour without steps and decide where to begin. This feature helps expedite the setup process, and eliminates the need to spend countless hours reading through a manual.

Create and Edit Field Issues Using the Web Interface

Users will be able to create, edit and progress issues through the workflow using the Prime Field web interface, complementing the issue functions from the Prime Field for iOS mobile application. Built with a consistent user experience, the behaviors and actions throughout issue management on the web interface are familiar to users of other Prime applications.

Primavera Submittal Exchange v17.10

The 17.10 release of Primavera Submittal Exchange includes a new feature that allows an initiator to re-open an item and send it back to the final reviewer in each of the logs that has a review flow (log type 1, 2, 3, 4, and 8). This release also addressed several bug fixes including consistent handling of email links, special characters, and re-enabling the multiple reports option.

Textura Pre-Qualification Management v17.10

This release of PQM completes our conversation from DB2 to Oracle Database.

Thanks!

Hi all,

Java 9 was released on September 21, 2017. The current versions of P6 will not work with Java 9, as it requires code updates to P6.

Our schedule for JRE 9 compatible/certified versions of P6 is as follows:

  • 17.10:           Early-October 2017
  • 16.2.10.x:     Mid-October 2017
  • 15.2.16.x:     Mid-October 2017

One thing to note is that JRE 9 will NOT auto-update JRE 8 users to JRE 9, so P6 users need not be concerned if auto update is enabled.

For more information on this issue, please see: Java 9 Support With Primavera P6 EPPM (Doc ID 2125099.1). This document as well as the Tested Configuration documentation for each product will be updated upon completion of certification testing.

Thanks,

Ron
