The Oracle Taleo Learn Cloud Service feature release 17A is currently scheduled for March 24th. This is a major release and contains new features as well as resolving issues reported by Learn customers.

 

Details on the new features in this release can be found in the Knowledge Management document through My Oracle Support: "Oracle Learn Cloud Release 17A (Doc ID 2245297.1)"

 

Release Notes are available for major releases and are posted on the Release Updates section of Customer Connect. Issues that are resolved by a maintenance release will have those issues added to the release notes of the previous major feature release. Customers who have issues resolved by the 17A release are requested to retest and validate the resolution through their Service Requests in My Oracle Support.

The 16A.3 Learn release was successfully deployed on June 17, 2016. This included the items previously planned for the 16A.2 release, which was integrated into 16A.3.

Also, a minor patch was deployed on June 24th, designated 16A.3.1. This was a single-issue patch for the VILT feature with regards to Adobe Connect functionality.

 

The next scheduled release is 16B, a major release currently scheduled for general deployment on July 22nd.  This is a major feature release that includes new Widgets for Skills, Job Profiles and Search, as well as the Complete SCORM 1.2 Course Player, Supervisor Roles and the TBE/Learn User Sync.

 

You can follow the Learn release announcement when it is posted in Customer Connect (http://appsconnect.oracle.com) and opt to receive email updates whenever the Learn release announcement is updated. 16B is a major release that also contains corrections and changes to resolve issues reported by customers and engineers.

 

Release Notes are expected to be available 2 weeks prior to the release and will be posted on the Release Updates section of Customer Connect. Customers who have issues resolved by the 16B release will be requested to retest and validate the resolution through their Service Requests in My Oracle Support.

The feature release 16A was deployed to all customers on March 18, 2016. This was a major release that included new features and enhancements. The new features include the My Tasks Widget and Recurring Learning Plans. Enhancements have been added to the Bulk Loader and BI Reporting functionality. Specifically, the Bulk Loader has been improved to support historical data loads, and BI Reporting now has a security feature that requires users to authenticate when using the email link to access a published report. Customers have the option to disable this feature via a Registry Key. See the Knowledge Management Document 2118272.1 for more information. The 16A release also brings further enhancements to the LearnCenter Design editor, the Transcript Widget and BI Reporting.

The next release will be 16A.1, scheduled for April 22nd. This will be a maintenance release which will address issues with the LearnCenter that have been reported by customers. Release notes are not available for maintenance releases. Customers who have issues resolved by this release will be requested to retest and validate the resolution through their Service Requests in My Oracle Support.

The Oracle Learn Release schedule for the year has been updated, and can be viewed in the Knowledge Management document. This will include the release of version 16A to all production sites on Friday, March 18, 2016 during the normal maintenance hours. You can view an overview of what is new in 16A on the Human Capital Release Readiness page.


Release Notes are expected to be available 2 weeks prior to the release and will be posed on the Release Updates section of Customer Connect. There is a live overview event on March 8th for those who wish to attend.

Planned Maintenance to My Oracle Support Portal on Friday January 29th 2016

 

There will be a full outage of the My Oracle Support Portal on Friday January 29, 2016, starting at 9:00 PM Pacific Time (Saturday January 30, 5:00 AM GMT/UTC) and ending on Saturday January 30, 2016 at 2:00 AM Pacific Time (Saturday January 30, 10:00 AM GMT/UTC).


During this outage, users can continue to search our Oracle Knowledge Base by going to https://support-lite.oracle.com.

This was a maintenance release that provides corrections to issues reported by Learn customers. Maintenance pack information for the 15B.3 release is available in Customer Connect and in the Learn Online Help manual with the product release.


To sign In to Customer Connect:

At the welcome page, mouse over Release Readiness in the menu bar, Human Capital Mgmt

You should see “Learn” in the Human Capital Management section.

Click the desired Release information link.


Also, preparations are underway for the next major release, 15C, is now scheduled for December 4th (1 month delay). This is a feature release that includes new updates to BI Reporting, the addition of the Transcript Widget and the new LearnCenter Course Player BETA, which adds support for HTML5. For additional information please see the knowledge article Oracle Learn Cloud Release Schedule (Doc ID 1983057.1).


Customers who have Defects resolved with these releases will be notified through their specific MOS Service Request to validate that the issue reported has been resolved. The Service Request status should be changed to “Close Requested” if the issue is validated as resolved.

This is a maintenance release that provides corrections to issues reported by Learn customers. Maintenance pack information for the 15B.2 release will be published in Customer Connect on the HCM Learn Forum and in online help with the product release.


Customers who have Defects resolved with this release will be notified through their specific MOS Service Request to validate that the issue reported has been resolved. The Service Request status should be changed to “Close Requested” if the issue is validated as resolved.

During this outage, users will still have limited search capabilities against the knowledge base via https://support-lite.oracle.com.

This is a maintenance package that will include defect resolutions.

 

Learn 15B.1 Maintenance Pack release notes will be published in Customer Connect with more detailed information as the release date approaches.

The Learn 15B release is scheduled for Friday, July 10 to all Wave 1 customers and Friday August 7, for Wave 2 customers.


This is a feature release that introduces updates to BI Reporting including a new Custom Report Widget, Updates to the Learning Plan Widget, LearnCenter Search updates and more. This release will also address a number of customer-found defects.


Learn 15B release notes have been published in Customer Connect and will be included in online help with the product release.  You can access the release at Learn 15B What's New (release notes)
