End-User "account disabled" message - HELP

 We upgraded to May 2010 in August, we wanted users to be allowed to create their own accounts when submitting a question as well as maintaining our existing client list. We are running into issues with existing users that previously did not need a password to login. In the past we sent emails with a summary string in the body of the email. Our upper-management prefered we keep our information secured. Now users must follow the link in their emails to view their answers...which has been working fine. All of a sudden, existing users are unable to login due to
