HCM Security Profile for other ERP Pillars

Does other ERP Roles for (FSCM, CRM) need to be assigned HCM security profile?

In our current project, there is a requirement to assign HCM Security Profile to Buyer and Procurement Manager roles?

I could not find any Oracle documentation confirming if this is needed?

Would anyone have idea from previous engagements where this was required? Under "Manage HCM Data Role and Security Profile" task - one can search for Roles from other pillars and assign a certain security profile as applicable for example for "Accounts Payable Manager" Job Role you can assign Person and Payroll security profile.
