WinSCP/Cyberduck reduce file to 0 bytes post transfer

I tried uploading a template file (under views/templates) folder that is around 8kb in size but as soon as the transfer completes, the file size goes back to 0 bytes and the next time I open up the file, it comes back empty (as in nothing in it). This also happens if I open the file in an IDE and copy-paste the code and save the file.

I looked at some articles and found out that it could be happening because of space constraints on the server and/or the space isf full. Is there a way to verify this (perhaps via Agent Desktop or CP Admin console)?
