Can I change the button shapes and style is Service Cloud workspace?


We have a requirement to monitor agents time in resolving the issues. Our solution is to put a start and stop button in the incident work space. In order to distinguish the action I need to create a design of the button to start, stop, pause the incident timer. My UX designer came up with the design for user experience look and feel. However I find it difficult to create this design in the workspace. Can you tell me if you have tried and created similar design, shapes and stype of a button? Attached is the sample design.
