Way to automatically open a report when Browser UI is launched for a specific profile

We want to roll this out for our sales people, and currently the UI will have nothing that automatically opens upon login.  It seems the user must setup their own default report, but must login to get this to work.

There might be an extension that can be used, but I don't know how to set this up and the documentation isn't written for a neophyte like me.

Any help on how this can be accomplished is very much welcome.
