We use custom Answer status’s which includes status such as “Hidden” – “Hidden” status  would be used when we do not want the answer searchable by the end user, but only available thru a link on a ‘hub’ page. When we use the versioning “Publish on” feature, once the answer is published the status is set as “Public” instead of the original status of “Hidden”. So,  the Editor/Author has to go to the answer and change the status back to it’s original status – they might as well just go in and Publish it the usual way.
