Access lvl restricted knowledge on non CP website

We have another website that is SSO enabled and whose users all have contact records. What I am trying to do is figure out how to add a module/widget .... something that will allow the users to be able to perform a search on the website and have it return articles that they are permissioned to see.  

The only thing I have been able to try and fail with is the syndicated knowledge widget. But that was only returning articles that had no restrictions on the access level.
