Loading Message Templates from Connect PHP API

Hi,

I can use Send Mail in CMP PHP but would like to use some kind of template and replace the content dynamically inside the PHP, instead of hard code the whole email messages in PHP.

I see under Site Configuration there is something called "Message Templates" but I am not able to find PHP API that can use to load the template. 

Please advise if this is the right place or there is any other way to do this.
