Chat disconnected in IOS device


We have chat related issue in IOS device. Chat launch page contains customized persistent chat widget . After commencing the chat conversation, when we switch to different application and come back immediately to chat page, chat disconnected. (i.e) Message send by agent from console not received at the customer end,but message send from customer received by the agent.

What could be the issue? This is occurring only in IOS device
