Attempting to insert an image from an https site

I'm trying to insert an image into Standard Text.  I've uploaded the image to a SharePoint library but when I copy the URL into the "insert" window nothing happens.  It's coming from an https url.  Does that matter?  Is there somewhere specific these images need to be stored?
