Summary

When launching a workflow from a report how do I load a parent record identified in the report?

Content

Hello,

I have a report that includes parent and child data being shown.  I have a linking report that displays grandchild information.  When I click "New" in the ribbon, I want to launch a workflow that loads the child record that is selected in the report then creates a new grandchild record with the child ID assigned as the foreign key.

How do I do this? When I use the load figure in workflow it either accepts an agent search (don't want that, as the selected record in the report already identifies the child ID and  I don't want to make the user search for it, or open a specific record all the time, which seems silly (I can't imagine why I would always want to open the same record from a workflow).  The feature that seems I most want to use is for the records from objects identified in the selected record to be made available, but that doesn't seem

Howdy, Stranger!
