Introduction

In Part 1, I discussed the importance of using standard templates and approaches when managing a project. The driver for initiating a new project is the business case. But many project management teams don’t know where to start. A business case captures the reasoning for initiating an investment for the organization such as an internal controls initiative. It is often presented in a well-structured written document, but may also sometimes come in the form of a short verbal argument or presentation.
