Opening Answer directly by ID via search?

After having used KnowledgeAdvanced for a few years, I've started development in KnowledgeFoundation once again -- however, maybe I'm just crazy, but I've noticed a behavior change from that of a few years back:

When searching for an Answer ID, you are no longer taken directly to the Answer Details page for that particular ID -- instead, that answer is returned as the top entry in the search results. I've tested with SRCH_ANS_ID both enabled and disabled, neither produce the desired result. 

Has this functionality been intentionally changed/removed? Am I missing a config setting somewhere?
