Creating new Answer

New Answers are not searchableContent
I know this is a total newbie question. I haven't added an answer before to our system.
I'm trying to create a new answer in our system. But it isn't searchable on our portal.
I have it set as "Public". And the access level is "Internal", which is what all the others are.
But when I go to our portal, i can't search using any of the keywords or anything.
Is there a visibility i need to look at? When I saved, it did show my my Interface. But it had a red "X" next to it. And now, I'm unsure how to get back to that screen.
