Responsive UI Search bar Rest API failing

We are encountering issues when attempting to use the new search feature, in Performance Management specifically, in the Responsive UI. It looks like the new search feature is utilizing a REST API call. This GET call is seemingly being blocked. There is a continuous 401 error when you use the search feature. We have verified that the security privileges within the application are accurate (used seeded roles). And we checked with our internal IT group to verify nothing is being blocked on our network security side... still no luck.
