We are trying to create a custom function that allows some users to add private notes to inidents

However when setting the  EntryType ID to 1 I get an error

Caught Exception :Thread Contact Error - Invalid Field: EntryType on Thread must be ENTRY_CUSTOMER to be able to set Contact field.; Incident(ID=33886).Threads[-1].Contact

Any advice? Can I call my function and add notes as an account/agent of the system?
