Integrate CTI with existing telephony vendor for BUI

We have an existing telephonic vendor with the CTI integration for agent console. Now we want to move the CTI functionality to BUI. And in order to screenpop the workspace whenever a customer calls we need to provide an URL to the telephonic vendor so that the phone number would come from the Phone system. 

For this can we create an extension which will fetch number from the telephonic vendor and will include that number in to a link. So that when we trigger that url in any browser a screenpop will appear and will search for the contact with that phone number.
