Attribute Name change in Content Type vs creating new attribute

We want to re name some of the attribute names we have across our content types i.e. from Question to Introduction, Answer to Details. These were set when we transferred content from KF to KA. The easy option seems to be to update these in the Attribute Name. Which doesn't update the Reference Key. This doesn't seem a big deal and would save us a lot of time vs creating a new attribute and transferring the content into these new sections. Has anyone done this, and are there any unforeseen implications of such a change?
