Is it possible to update the recurring payments (amounts and/or number of payments) once lease expenses have been generated

Client has a large number of lease assets. During the lease asset lifetime, based on the number of payments periods, there can be multiple changes to the original asset terms. Changes can be early termination, extending the asset lifestyle and/or adjustment to the period payment amount. They don't want to terminate the existing lease asset and its payments, and create a new lease asset. They need to be able to keep history of the changes within the existing lease assets.
