‘Send Shipment Advice’ remains with Retrying status

After Ship Confirmation, the Order Status remains in ‘Awaiting Shipping’ status and the Scheduled Job ‘Send Shipment Advice’ is stuck with Retrying status.

How do we find the issue for which this situation is happening? Is there any basic configuration missing? Any pointers would be very helpful.
