Advantages TCA model on maintaining customers and suppliers

Summary:

What are the advantages when I create a customer based on a supplier or vice versa. Can you maintain for example address, tax and identifier (social security number, chamber of commerce number) on party level when you do that?

So for example when I link a customer to a supplier record and re-use the adress and then update the adress on party level, is this new address automatically used for both customer and supplier?

I can imagine the other advantages

• Avoid duplicates
• Netting
• 360 view of a party

But I'm especially interested in the advantages on maintenance of base/address information.
