Restricting future dated transactions in receipts

Summary:

We have receipts entered with future dated transactions when no exchange rates have been maintained for those dates. System does not give any issues while creating the receipt, but creates an error during accounting trying to do currency conversion.

So we are trying to use Page Composer to see if we can restrict the receipt date to not be in future date. However the sandbox page composer has only functionality to make a field as Read Only / Hidden / Mandatory as far as we can see. Is there anyway to control the value of the field like the receipt date to put a custom condition?
